Tis the Season to make a list!

Tis the season to be, stressed out? Let’s hope not, but sadly that’s the story for many people whenever the holiday season approaches. While there are several things to love about Christmas, it can be easy to allow the stress and busyness of the season to steal your joy.

After all, there are presents to be bought and wrapped, cards to be sent, decorations to be hung, food to be prepared, and sorrel and pastels to made, and when you add these extra events to an already full schedule, it has the potential to turn even the most devoted Christmas elf into a Grinch.

So how can you pull off all of these hectic activities without losing your Christmas spirit? The answer lies in two words: organization and planning. Below is a Christmas preparation list.

Yes! A LIST!

L- Make a LIST of everything! Write it all down! To-do list, Gift List, Decoration List, Chores List, Reminders. Make a list of everything! It doesn’t have to be super-detailed at this point, you should at least have the names of every person you plan to buy a gift for on this list. Jot down some ideas based on what you know about their likes and dislikes, and then as you’re out and about over the next few weeks, pick up these gifts as you see them.

I-      Take an INVENTORY of your home supplies, furniture, dishes, glasses, serving trays, etc., and purchase anything that may be lacking, so that you won’t be caught off guard on the day of the big celebration

S-     SALE! SPARKLE up the environment! Officially begin your Christmas shopping trips. Buy your Christmas tree, and get busy decorating! This is also a great time to knock out the other decorations around the house (e.g., lights, garlands, stockings, live nativity scenes, etc.) And Of course, one of the most anticipated things for the holiday season, catch all the perfect sales from your favorite stores, Yes! All the Discounts.

And Last but not least..

T–     One of the real joys of the Christmas season is the opportunity to say THANK YOU and to spend TIME with our loved ones. What are you giving back to life? Look around you for a place where you can sow a few seeds of happiness, are you willing to do these things even for a day?  This Christmas let us value time and Thankfulness throughout our land.
