Jade Johnatty

This highly talented, creative and inquisitive child, attends Providence Girls Catholic Girls High School. Jade showcased her artistic skills at the Trinidad and Tobago Art Society’s recent Members Only Exhibit entitled “Reflections”. Her oil painting, “Reflections in Solitude” drew much publicity on Social Media. It was purchased by a buyer from Canada who said the painting drew an emotional response from her, reminding her of her home country Trinidad.

Jade’s imagination and creativity bears no limits, as she taught herself to knit from YouTube tutorials, makes jewellry, and even sews little purses and pillows. She also dabbles in clay, crafting sculptures, using hand held tools to carve definition and depth. Through observing her mother at work in the kitchen she has even created her own recipes, making her own bread, chocolate cake in a mug or pasta dishes. She has also participated in Digicel’s Trinidad and Tobago Young Voices as part of her school choir.

Asked about her future career aspirations Jade who once wanted to be a fashion designer, currently expresses she would now like to be a digital animator. Recently, she has been teaching herself via tutorials how to use Adobe Illustrator, Krita and other similar computer art programs, getting her feet wet in digital art.
